A dyslexic mind
Sees the name as Desere
Then I realize
Sorting through such confusions
Others may believe is art

I open my eyes
a cold breath, fresh in my lungs
briefly I shiver
the wind is the only sound
high above, I see a hawk

Summer Night

The sun’s work is through
fireflies flash the end of day
cicadas cackle
heralding the silken night
inviting the moon and stars

the land breeze sleeps now
the sea breeze kisses the trees
scatters the fireflies
rustles stems where butterflies sleep
not disturbing their dreams

it’s time for mating
the cycle of survival
all the tests of life
bring them to the verge of God
guide them to renew the earth
