Putin Takes Over – What Are We Doing?

What is the reasoning behind our national choice to become weaker? Do we really think that allowing Vladimir Putin to become Lord of Middle Asia is beneficial? https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/charles-krauthammer-obama-vs-putin-the-mismatch/2014/03/27/e26a27f2-b5d5-11e3-8cb6-284052554d74_story.html

Have we decided that we can just throw money at the rest of the world and they will be our “best friends forever?” http://www.cfr.org/foreign-aid/effectiveness-foreign-aid/p12077

What does the rest of the world see in the USA? Could it be that we have allowed ourselves to become both the pigs and the trough of the earth? (Funny how twisted memories of “Animal Farm,” “Babe,” “Green Acres,” and “Charlotte’s Web” come back at odd moments.) http://www.globescan.com/news_archives/bbcusop/

What happened in just three “gens?” We were healthy, self-sufficient, proud, principled, victors in a terrible global conflict, with allies around the globe. Now we have become obese, diseased, entitled, whimpering, waffling, isolated, losers who believe that our laurels can sustain us against a world that would love to gobble up the wealth and infrastructure our forebears battled to create. http://www.worldaffairsjournal.org/article/america-decline-it%E2%80%99s-matter-choices-not-fate

Parents have become overweight, diabetic, absentee valets, chauffeurs, concierges, bodyguards, butlers, and indentured servants to their entitled, cowardly, lazy, obese, virtual children. But today’s parents may not know that because they never see their offspring or children from previous liaisons or marriages. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kathycaprino/2014/01/16/7-crippling-parenting-behaviors-that-keep-children-from-growing-into-leaders/

Public schools have become parodies of kibbutzim, providing tax-supported proxies for parents, (feeding and day care). http://www.publicschoolreview.com/blog/do-you-need-after-school-day-care-public-schools-may-be-the-solution

Teaching without learning is not education. It does no one any good to have school systems awarding meaningless diplomas, and wielding vast political power steeped in racial prejudices. The “three R’s,” (reading, “riting,” and “rithmetic,”) are no longer required for graduation from high school, and in some cases, college. Even the foregoing misspellings are “OK” in today’s classrooms. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/30/education/30educ.html?_r=0

Recess and “phys ed” are absent or diluted to the point of extinction. http://www.learningfirst.org/cutting-physical-education-and-recess-troubling-trends-and-how-you-can-help

Bullying now extends past “stick and stones” into words that “will never hurt me.” Kids are committing suicide because of virtual embarrassments. What ever happened learning how to deal with it? The world is full of bullies. http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-life-lessons-you-learn-from-being-bullied/
